b. 7/3 - 2/3 = 5/3

c. 1/4 + 9/4 = 10/4 = (2 x 5) / (2 x 2) = 5/2

d. 3/5 - 3/5 = 0.

2)

a. 2/3 + 1/6 = (2 x 2) / (3 x 2) + 1/6 = 4/6 + 1/6 = 5/6.

b. 1/2 - 1/4 = (1 x 2) / (2 x 2) - 1/4 = 2/4 - 1/4 = 1/4

c. 3/5 + 1/10 = (3 x 2) / (5 x 2) + 1/10 = 6/10 + 1/10 = 7/10

d. 18/3 - 1 = 18/3 - (1 x 13) / (1 x 13) = 18/3 - 13/3 = 5/3.
