E = 9 x² - 42 x + 64 - 36

E = 9 x² - 42 x + 28

Factorisation

identité remarquable de type  a²  - b²  = (a + b ) (a - b )

( 3 x - 8 )² - 36  = ( 3 x - 8 + 6 ) ( 3 x - 8 - 6) = ( 3 x - 2 ) ( 3 x - 14 )

pour x = - 5

E =  ( 3 *-5 - 2) ( 3 *-5 - 14 )

E =  ( - 15-2) ( - 15 - 14) = - 17 * - 29 =  493

pour x  = 2/3

E = ( 3 *2/3 - 2 ) ( 3 *2/3 - 14)

E = ( 6/3 - 6/3) ( 6/3 - 42/3) = 0

E = 0

soit  3 x - 2 = 0

3 x = 2

x = 2/3

soit  3 x - 14 = 0

3 x = 14

x = 14/3

Réponse :

E(x) = (3x-8)² - 36 = (3x-14)(3x-2) = 9x² - 48x + 28 .

E(x) = 0 donne x = 2/3 OU x = 14/3 .
