  Far a deux formes au comparatif : further et farther. Lorsque l'on parle de distance on peut employer les 2. Dans le sens "plus détaillé(e-s), on ne peut employer que further

  comparatif supériorité

  comparatif adj. courts : adj. + -er + than

10- They are both good girls, but I think Mary is the best of the two.

  superlatif

   good = better (comparatif) // the best (superlatif)

11- This is the filthiest kitchen I have ever seen.

   superlatif.  (filthy = sale, crasseux)

   les adj. en -y  : au comparatif = -ier / superlatif = -iest. Le -y se transforme en -i

12- The older I get, the happier I am.

  comparatif supériorité

  Même chose que pour "filthy". adj. en -y = -ier

   Même si on a 'the' devant ce n'est pas un superlatif, mais une comparaison entre les 2 éléments de la phrase.

  comparatif

   bad : worse (comparatif) / the worst (superlatif)

7- Cats are as intelligent as dogs.

  comparatif égalité

   as + adj. + as

   superlatif

  good = bettter / the best

  les adj. courts de 3 lettres "consonne/voyelle/consonne" doublent la consonne au comparatif et superlatif (big: bigger/biggest/ fat : fatter/fattest)
